Mossel Bay is one of the most historically significant towns in the southern hemisphere, and is the historical capital of the Garden Route. It is the place where the first meeting between inhabitants of Europe and Southern Africa occurred in 1488, when Bartholomew Diaz set foot ashore and encountered the ancient Khoi-San people.
In addition to this, the unique all year round temperate climate, sun-drenched, north facing beaches, regular whale and dolphin sightings, scuba diving reefs, outstanding local cuisine, challenging local golf courses and the only working harbour for commercial and leisure craft in the Garden Route, make Mossel Bay a town worth a visit!
