Situated just outside the Mpumalanga town of White River the cottages at Heuglins, on Winmarleigh Farm, are situated in lush sub-tropical gardens, with beautiful English roses and azaleas that adorn the gardens. In such placid surrounds, bird watching is a guaranteed joy as one searches for the Heuglins Robin, partially responsible for the name of this peaceful retreat. The other party responsible for the second part of the name is the small village of Winmarleigh, situated in Lancashire, England. Full details on how the name was influenced by this British village are in the cottages.
Privately owned since 1999, the owners tried to retain the architectural style from the original homestead when the cottages were added. The cottages are spacious and have under floor heating, for chilly winter evenings, and en-suite bathrooms with a shower and bath.
The newest addition is a cottage that concentrates more on the family, and less on luxury. It has two bedrooms and a kitchen for self catering.
All the cottages are well situated, allowing for a beautiful view across the valley, onto the 18-hole championship golf course and even beyond. Other activities in the area include golf, tennis, horse riding and water sports.
Fax, email and telephone facilities are available in the main house.
